A few days together

Ok I have a lot to catch up on. We have had some lazy days mixed with some really busy days. I have seen a lot of distilleries and have spent a lot of my play money buying bottles for home!!!!  The first distillary we went to was Glen Garioch. It was small one and I was the only one on the tour!  It was a very informative tour and I got to sample a few great whiskies!  Here are a few photos from the tour. I also bought a bottle from here and Elizabeth got a creamy liquor as well.

So many barrels. The barrel rooms always smell amazing!

That evening we went to the original Brewdog brewery. This is a Scottish craft brewer that does some amazing beers!

Pano of the brewery

Drinking some amazing spiced sour cherry beer!

The next day we left and headed to our next town. We took a long way there and stopped by some castles and other sights.

Random castle!

Stopped at a small town for lunch and they happened to be having a small festival!

Here is Elizabeth and I at the Glenlivet distillary!  Very cool place with some amazing whiskey. I bought three bottles of stuff you can't buy in the states!

Here is the inside of our really cute air BNB

THE VIEW FROM THE FRONT DOOR!!!

This place is too cute!

The next day we went to the Glenfiddich distillary. Elizabeth found out she has expensive tast in whiskey!  Also we learned that it's ok to add a few drops to whiskey. They actually say it opens it up and is better.

Here are a few from the tour

We stopped by the Balvienie castle

We have been trying to find these long haired cows!!!  They are awesome. We got to hand feed them!

Took a walk through the forest!

She is so sweet!

The amazing views never end!

Having a pint by our house

The next day we stopped into Aberlour!  This is one of my favorite Distilleries! I can only take small tastes of all the whiskies because the drinking and driving level is way low here. A craft beer will put you over the edge!  So what we do is that I only take a small taste and we also hang out after the tour and drink coffee and walk around for like an hour to be safe.

The distillery. I bought a bunch of bottles here!!!!

Super cute bridge over the river Spey.

Elizabeth doing her thing!

Pano!

After our day it's time to hang out and relax at the BNB. Tomorrow is a full day of driving and sights. We head to Inverness tomorrow. On Wednesday we are doing a 4 hour bike tour of the Cairngorms!  We take a tram to the top of the mountain and the ride all the way down!!!!

Thanks for reading!

Dunnottar Castle

Today we had another early start because parking ends at 8am. Elizabeth has been amazing at getting ready quick in the morning!  She is really grown into the backpacking mentality!  My wife is awesome! We drove about 50 min to Dunnottar Castle. It is one of the locations that Hamlet (Mel Gibson), was filmed!  The castle was perched up on a rock island with a small path that led to it. It was a really great castle to visit and had some amazing views of the ocean. I am glad we decided to stop by here on the way to Aberdeen.

Yep!

We are super excited!

I love when castles are ruins like this!

She is loving this castle

Dark view of the Whigs vault. It is where they kept many of the people who opposed the Kings new change in religion.

They had to brew beer in order to drink the water!  I would be a king here!

Lovely view out the window!

I love panoramic photos!

Used to be a second floor here

Enjoying this amazing view!

The one handed panoramic!

Drove into a small little town called Stonehaven for some lunch. Well actually, Elizabeth wanted some sea food and this town was supposed to have an amazing restaurant so we walked to find it.

Found it!  Elizabeth was in heaven!  She had some fresh fish with mashed potatoes with crab mixed in. I hung out and at a granola bar lol.

After lunch we drove into Aberdeen and went straight to Brew Dog!  It is the original location. I am drinking a bourbon scotch ale infused through walnuts and dates. YES PLEASE!

I all of a sudden started to not feel well today. Had that sore throat feeling that spread to my ear and was feeling real warm. I only had one beer for the record. I decided to get some cold and flu meds and head to the hotel. Our hotel is amazing!  It is very fancy and even had a fireplace burning where you check in. It used to be a a large mansion that an Earl built for his mistress but got turned into a a fancy hotel. Here is the entrance.

Now I am in bed with some night time meds kicking in. Elizabeth went to explore the grounds.

Good night!
