Glasgow

DIWe arrived in Glasgow in the afternoon And hoped on a bus to the airport to pick up our car. Let me just say, if you plan on renting a car READ ALL THE FINE PRINT!!!!!  We had already paid for the car through a discount online rental, but we didn't pay for the gps and the insurance and taxes in Scotland. Let's just say it ended up being WAY WAY more expensive than we planned!  But we have the car and it has been a great help!
The first day with the the car we just survived getting it back to the hotel!  Driving on the left is very hard. The roundabouts are very confusing and take some serious focus!  The hardest part of driving is sitting on the right side of the car. I keep driving over to the shoulder becuause it changes my perspective on th road!

Here is me diving on the right

Day 2 in Glasgow
We got up early in the morning, eat a traditional Scotish breakfast and headed out the door for Loch Lomond. It was a beautiful drive and Todd is a great help in driving. We arrived at the Loch and boarded a ship for a 1 hour tour of the loch. It is HUGE!!!!

The boat tour was really nice. We got to see a large portion of the Loch and learned some history.

After the boat ride we set off hiking to see some of the area around the Loch. We happened on a really beautiful old house/castle. We hiked up the hill and took a break hanging around the house.

After exploring the town we hoped in the car and drove to a small town on the side of the loch named Luss. Is was a very quant little town. We took a nice stroll through the town and fount a place for a late lunch.

Elizabeth and I on the beach

After walking around Luss, we decided to take a small road around the side of the loch, in order to see the inlet river that feeds the Atlantic. The road was TINNY!!!!  It was a very stressful drive because they don't have shoulders in Scotland, so when you pass a car coming at you it feels like you will scrape the side of your car off!  The drive was worth it because we got to pull over and really get some great views.

On the inlet

Yep!  Life is so good!

After the driving back, we all met up with Elizabeth's cousin Robbie. He showed us around town for awhile and then we headed for some pints and food. We ended up at a Scotish brewery pub called Brew Dog. He had some great pints and met some cool guys from Yorkshire. They were really fun and stayed with us most of the night for pints.

Good times had by all!

Tomorrow we are headed to tour the town and go to a festival!
