Today was amazing!

We started the day with no plan at all! We went to look for a new parking place but then decided to go up to a lookout point above Dundee. It was a really nice area with a wonderful view of Dundee.

Here are a few shots of the view

After hanging out there for awhile we opened up the lonely planet guide to Scotland. There were two things listed that we thought were interesting. We hoped in the car and just went for it!

Tha first place we went was a very small town to see some Pictish Stones. They were very old stones carved between the 7th and 8th century AD.

After that we drove down some very SMALL roads to get to a wonderful hike. Here is an example of the crazy roads.

This is a two lane road!!!!!

After about a hour of driving, we finally arrived at Glen Clova. It literally was just a hotel!  We had some lunch and then headed out for an amazing hike!

Here is the start of the hike.

And now for a ton of shots from the hike

Looking towards the hike (not going all the way to the top)

We found it!!!!!!

Amazing!

The water was so cold!

We can't believe the view!

Elizabeth is brave!

St. Andrews

Today we drove to St. Andrews!  It was beautiful. The cathedral and castle were just ruins but you could still imagine in glory of it all!  It also had the St. Andrews golf course. We really enjoyed the city and spent most of the day walking around the city.

View outside of the cathedral

Lovely couple

"Inside" the chapel

Castle on the ocean!

We are not sure why but we know this is an important bridge on the St. Andrews golf course

The course

Enjoying the view!

Boom!  Amazing vegan burger with great hot sauce!

After we finished sight seeing we headed to our hostel in Dundee. It was really hard to find because it was literally a door in between two businesses. But once we got the hostel we were very happy!  It's a cool place with a large room, community kitchen and a great common space. We walked to the grocery store and got food to cook. I cooked some pasta with fake meat and Elizabeth made salad.

Here is what I am drinking.  Such a great price!  Only 32$!

Here is our night! Love to relax

Tomorrow we explore Dundee!

On the way to Perth

After we dropped off Ashlin and Todd at the airport, we headed off to see some sights from Elizabeth's favorite show.... outlander. She has been really excited to see places that the show was filmed. We went to Blackloch castle first. It was originally a jail for high class prisoners. It was a cool castle right on a loch.

The outside

I didn't do it!!!!

Used a fancy app that lets us take a photo together by taking two pics!

Pretty cool little castle!

After this castle, we went to Faulkland. It was a really cute little town that had a little festival going on.

The fountain in the background is in the show

We finally headed to Perth to check into our hotel. I was very tired from the night befor so ended up taking a nice little nap!  After the nap we went to a movie!  We both were missing the home life and need to relax. We saw Jurassic World. It was very good!

Our tiny hotel

The next morning we slept in and enjoyed some down time. After a relaxing morning, we headed to Scone Palace.  It was beautiful!  Large amount of land and a cool palace. We took a nice tour of the palace and the grounds.

The palace

A replica of the stone of destiny. This is the sight where most of the Kings and Queens were crowned.

Beautiful walk through the woods

My love

Resting on the beautiful grass

A long hair cow!!!!

It is so green here!!!!!

After the palace, we headed back into Perth for some awesome Indian food!  I am telling you, the Indian food here is amazing!  We are now sitting in a pub blogging and relaxing. Our wifi in the hotel is terrible!  Tomorrow we head to Dundee.

Thanks for reading.

Climbing Arthur's Seat

Today was the last day in Edinburgh. We walked down the royal mile and hiked Arthur's Seat. It was a beautiful hike and had some amazing views of the country. Todd's hips were hurting so it ended up being just Ashlin, Elizabeth, and I going to the top. It was a very windy hike and pretty chilly.

I am pointing to the top where we hiked!

Her hair is trying to blow away!

Where we started!

The lovely ladies at the top

Beautiful!

Gotta have the panoramic!

After our walk back to the house, we went out to dinner. I had some amazing vegan haggis, neeps, and tatties!  We ended up meeting up with the guy we met in Edinburgh!  He took us to an amazing jazz bar.

Ok that's it from Edinburgh. Working on the post from the last few days now!
